Fitting: When fitting, we would always recommend using a thread locker adhesive on the screws. Fit the screws on the rear base first but do not tighten fully, then fit the front screws next but do not fully tighten. Gradually tighten one screw at a time in small increments until all screws are fully tightened and flush. This will ensure a good solid fit to the rifle.

Note: The two rear holes on this rail match up for the Victory, Classic, Hunter and Ambassador 21.8mm. But the second to third holes on the Victory & Ambassador are 2mm further apart than the holes on the Classic and Hunter. This means, the rail has incorporated elongated holes for the front base. This is to allow both of the model variations to fit. This has no loss of accuracy and due to the countersink and design of the hole, it will align perfectly centrally to the action.

This Quick Release Base is precision made by Contessa Alessandro & C. s.n.c. The fixed base is made to fit directly to your rifle, then you use the Contessa Quick Release Base, either one of the possible models available, and using it's QD clamping system you can attach the mount to the base. This system allows you to interchange scopes on a single rifle, and even change a scope to different rifles in seconds using the Contessa system.
